The SongBird is ready to leave its nest!

8th February 2006

music / software

I wrote about Songbird back in November. Very interesting project, built on the Mozilla engine and based on XUL (XML User Interface Langauge). I remember back when it was introduced, there were some comparisons of songbird to iTunes, etc, but from what has been written in the official blog, it seems to be more than a look-alike

think the fact that it is opensource and will allow 3rd party extensions, are its strong points! And, the fact that you can use it as a browser! So... the bird is ready to fly from its nest and will launch later today, according to TechCrunch. I'm very interested in using the product once it it's available!
